Description
A Catrina Calavera (Skeleton Dame) in Mexico City's historic Zocalo public square during the Day of the Dead festivities. The Day of the Dead is a wonderful holiday of love and remembrance to celebrate and honor those who have passed on. The Mexican people who participate in this celebration will often create elaborate alters with candles and pictures of their deceased loved ones, complete with their favorite mementos and foods. The beautifully decorated skeletons (calacas) like this one represent happiness in the afterlife.
